Abstract swirl of orange, pink, and yellow colors on a white background.

Phoenix Rising I . This is the first painting I did after Hurricane Helene. I like the energy it depicts.

A Bit About Me….

My inspiration comes from the natural beauty surrounding Asheville...the forests, skies, the mountains and waters.   Filled with things, people and places to be grateful for!  Also from our garden, and we do love to garden!

My first love is sewing, but for now, I’m saving my hands for quilting.  But there always has been color and creativity in my life.  So I’ve started “throwing paint” and creating artwork with acrylic paint.  Art:  it’s just what I do!  And it is exciting to learn a new medium.

My studio is in the 2nd bedroom of our little 1925 bungalow.  The “our” is my husband, Pat, and our wild Australian Terrier, Harry.

I hope my work brings beauty and joy into people’s lives and homes.  I have so much gratitude for this part of my life.  It’s stellar to be a working artist in Asheville.  Sure different from my time raising Angora goats and in the legal field, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything!

That's me, next to a display of abstract paintings at Trackside Studios in the Aura Arts Building, Asheville.
