Contemporary Fluid Painting
Making a splash with paint here in our tiny 1925 Asheville bungalow. Paint is perfect for me because I love color! I like to take my inspiration from all the beauty here in Asheville and the surrounding Blue Ridge Mountains.
I have been a fiber artist here for a decade. I used so much color for a decade in my fiber art, and it was simply delightful. My fiber art required so much sewing that my right hand just gave out. I’ll save sewing for personal projects.
Now that could have been the end of my art, but then isn’t everything art? The clothes you wear, the way arrange your dinner on the plate@ The perfect spot for a treasured vase with the first rose of spring? But not to use color every day?
That’s where paint “enters the picture”. I love combining colors and moving them on a surface, manipulating its flow. It’s pure fun-pure colorful fun! And it is always a surprise to see how it flows, whether I use a marble, a paper towel, or air to move it.
